Since its establishment in 1954, the professionals at Central Power Systems & Services (CPS&S) have been committed to providing superior customer service. CPS&S has long enjoyed steady and significant success in sales, service, and customer service and now positioned itself as a leader in the marketplace. Customer driven from the very beginning, we are looking forward to the road ahead!

When it started under its original name of Diesel Equipment, CPS&S had only 19 employees in the entire business. Today, by contrast, the company staffs almost 300 highly skilled experts, which marks an 11-fold increase in its workforce. In the early years, the modest crew saw a serious focus on supporting the oil patch of Central Kansas. Detroit Diesel and Allison products were highly sought-after in the rapidly increasing oil markets of the time. The company was quick to follow wherever the oil fields went. Gradually, additional branches were needed in Great Bend, Liberal, Salina, and Colby Kansas along with Woodward, Oklahoma, where the company built reputation for quick response to service needs. In fact, Diesel Equipment guaranteed to have any oilrig up and running again in four hours or less!

In 1990, in an effort to better serve the increasing cross-country marketplace, the company doubled its territory to now include all of Kansas and the western half of Missouri. The name was changed to Central Detroit Diesel-Allison, Inc., and the headquarters was consequently moved from Wichita to Liberty, Missouri. The newest branch, in Springfield, Missouri, was later opened in 1997. The company now occupies 250,000 square feet of facilities in over 80 acres and is still growing.

Over the past 50 years, this family owned business has evolved with the marketplace, incorporating new products and services to meet customer needs. Commitment to service, however, has never changed from its beginnings back in Wichita, Kansas. Whether operating as "Diesel Equipment" in 1954, or "Detroit Diesel," today, we remain committed distributors of both Detroit Diesel Engines, MTU DD and Allison Automatic Transmissions. Customer driven since the beginning, we look forward to continuing the journey.
